GUTTERS DESIGNED TO MOVE WATER AWAY FROM YOUR HOME

A gutter system only works when the gutters, downspouts, pitch, outlets, and discharge locations work together. Upside Exteriors installs and replaces gutter systems built around the actual drainage needs of your property—not simply the length of the roofline.

5-INCH SEAMLESS GUTTERS

Five-inch gutters are a practical fit for many Chicagoland homes when the roof area, pitch, valley locations, and discharge plan allow the system to handle water efficiently. Each run is measured for the home so joints are minimized and the finished roofline stays clean.

6-INCH SEAMLESS GUTTERS

Six-inch gutters provide greater carrying capacity for larger roof areas, steep slopes, long runs, and concentrated water from valleys. We recommend the size based on the house and drainage conditions instead of treating every property the same.

3×4 DOWNSPOUTS ON EVERY SYSTEM

We use oversized 3×4 downspouts rather than smaller standard downspouts. The larger opening moves water more efficiently and helps reduce clogging. Placement is based on roof area, valleys, lower-roof discharge, landscaping, walkways, and the safest practical route away from the foundation.

PROPER PITCH, OUTLETS & DISCHARGE

Gutters must be pitched correctly, fastened securely, and paired with enough properly located outlets. We look at where water collects during heavy rain, where upper roofs discharge, and how extensions can direct water away from foundations, patios, sidewalks, and planting beds.

GUTTER GUARDS

Guard options are available to reduce routine debris buildup while keeping the system serviceable. The best choice depends on surrounding trees, roof design, maintenance expectations, and the type of debris common to the property.

REPAIRS & DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS

We correct leaking joints, damaged sections, poor pitch, loose fasteners, overflowing areas, and ineffective downspout placement. A focused repair may be appropriate when the existing system is otherwise sound; full replacement is recommended only when it provides the better long-term result.

RELATED SOFFIT & FASCIA WORK

If water damage has affected the fascia or soffit behind the gutter, we can address the related exterior repairs as part of a coordinated scope. This avoids installing a new gutter over deteriorated wood or leaving the underlying cause uncorrected.

ROOFING, SIDING & NEW-CONSTRUCTION COORDINATION

When gutters are part of a larger exterior project, we coordinate their installation with roofing, siding, soffit, fascia, and exterior trim. That sequencing protects the finished materials and allows the water-management system to be planned as part of the complete exterior.

PLANNED AROUND CHICAGOLAND WEATHER

Heavy rain, snow, ice, roof valleys, and freeze-and-thaw cycles can expose weaknesses in an undersized or poorly directed system. We look at where the water begins, how it moves across the roof, and where it should discharge before recommending improvements.
